Chalcopyrite

Stunning and unique, chalcopyrite is a metallic stone tinted in shades of aquamarine, deep purple, turquoise, gold, silver and copper. Because of its vibrant shadings, it is also known as peacock ore.

Chalcopyrite is an effective stone for lung problems and breathing difficulties. It is also an effective remedy for tiredness, especially mental fatigue.

Lazulite

Rapid Creek produces some of the best lazulite specimens in the world. People knew about Lazulite before but the discovery of lazulite at Rapid Creek, redefined the species. The deposits at Rapid Creek are hydrothermal deposits in quarz veins in iron rich shales.

Meditation with Lazulite is very deep, very calming facilitating all forms of psychic visioning, astral travel, clairaudience and channelling. Lazulite is useful for sharing fears and accessing insights and answers to all forms of worries. Lazulite is helpful in harmonising the endocrine system and boost the immune system. It can help reduce sun sensitivity. Yang stone for peace and tranquility.

Tibetan singing Bowls

Inner peace and tranquillity can be hard to achieve but the power of sound can inspire our spirit, re-vitalise our body and harmonise our being with the universe.
Strike the bowl gently and follow the sound for as long as it resonates.
Open your heart and just be - don't do.

Seven weeks on..

Seven weeks down the track and the swelling has gone down from elephant. I have discovered the bayfit pool at Altona North and lapping it up. Oh and as you can see I have changed my undies.

Scar tissue that I wish you saw

Pretty impressive. There is still a lot of swelling, oh and pre-existing cellulite. Unfortunately the surgeon didn't suck any fat out while he was there. Am an now an expert on crutches (the metal kind). Have also a load of opinions on the health system in case Kevin Rudd ever asks.
Must be on the road to recovery because I am bored, bored, bored; mainly with myself but lack the concerntration to get into any of the many projects I thought I would undertake whilst incapacitated.
Everyday brings more movement & a bit less pain, so bring it on I say

One more time

Lets do it again!!

My Youtube video is on one of my very early blogs, you will find my wedding dance. Must be love love love. Yes I, have done these tasks randomly. My reading tells me that Youtube has almost one million hits per day. This figure I can only assume that is out-of-date especially now that Google has bought the rights to hosting it.

Podcasts, I have played with these and discovered how to record songs on my computer. It will take a bit more time for me to work out how to upload it to my blog, also a couple of links would not open. So your ears have been spared for now. Perhaps if I win an ipod I will become an afficiado.

Web 2.0
My thoughts: Well I have made a start on my local history wikki, recorded published my wedding, found a best research friend in rollyo... Yipppee, there is so much to explore, so many areas for creativity, so much fun to be had. I feel empowered and enlightened. My computer is capable of so much more than I ever imagined. Already I use many gadgets in my everday life both at home and work such as: Newsfeeds, blogs, facebook, flickr, rollyo. I have started many personal projects such as the Peckham family blog.

How would I improve the process? Whilst I have enjoyed working from my laptop (Baby Gregory) it would have been great to be able to do these activities from work in work time. In reality I have gone off on many tangents and learnt beyond the scope of the tasks set. Lets bring it to the people. Our world is getting smaller. Faster, affordable and reliable technology should be available to all, but I think it may take a generation or so, rather like the telephone, which we didn't have when I was a little girl.

Hobsons Bay Libraries

Just click and you'll find the home of the webolution

delicious and not forgotten things

How good is this, I found the internet brain! should come in handy. It is great to dip my feet in the creative pool of knowledge.

Is the world divided between the techno savvy and old school savvy?
Will a class system for the advanced users of new technologies v's the luddites emerge? I don't think so. The sharing and caring nature of this medium has a techno-spritual basis. It is great to dip my feet in the creative pool of knowledge.

Web 2.0 Awards - Mr Waterbaby looked great with hair! I also found a library which gave away ipods as a staff incentive! Sound familiar?

Library Thing...revisited

Am just finishing up my webolutionary journey & checking that I have completed everything. Surprise surprise already done the LibraryThing. Don't worry am randomly getting over the line.

You've come a long way Baby

The deadline is looming, so my aim is to finish by the end of this weekend. Just under two activities for me to complete and then waterbaby will be webolutionary. Yippee... Checked the HBL wikipage and not too many of us have got that far. C'mon guys keep going you're nearly there.....I guess I got a bit carried away experimenting with wikki's and google doc's.

Funnily enough I have discovered that not a lot of people read this blog, or if they do don't feel the need to comment. My clever daughter of Bam Bam fame found it by deduction, my husband thinks its another few seconds towards his total 15 minutes of fame and the male offspring is clearly disinterested; although I can understand what he is talking about alot clearer.

I do like to include at least one photograph in each blog, otherwise it would be really boring even to me.

Polio patients early 1960's

Given that it has been a big week history wise for me I thought I'd include a bit of my own personal story. This one is of polio patients at the Mount Eliza Childrens hospital which was set up originally for World War 2 returned soldiers. By the time I got there in the late 1960's it was for children who required long-term hospitalisation. I shared the long dormitory with children with a vast array of problems...spina biffida, cancer, down syndrome orphan twins. Third bed from the end was me with septic arthritis.

Before hospitals went through their own revolution in the 1970's, apart from the returned soldiers being replaced with 'crippled children' (yes that's what we were called) things were pretty much the same for twenty years or so. Daily we were wheeled out on the balcony to get the healing sun, sunburn was not uncommon nor of particular concern. I think I developed my good strong voice through yelling for nurses, no buzzers.
Between the ages of 7 and 12 I was in and out of hospital, operations, full plaster casts & skating around on a trolley inches from the ground, crutches, traction. In my last hip operation my hip was arthrodesed, and has been like that ever since.

Fast forward 35 years later, waterbay will return to a private hospital, hopefully an unshared room with en-suite,buzzer and gourmet meals. I will have them best hip private health insurance can buy. A brand-new titanium hip, fit for wonder woman; hey I'll be nearly bionic hehehe ....it will last at least for the next 35 years or more. Wow. you've come a long way baby. So the answer is no I didn't get my limp in my car accident...that's a whole other story.

Google docs

Reading Victoria in NSW. 2009 Summer read

http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dgsvkx8h_0d5gj99df

I have been looking at Google docs today & I seem to be stuck on a simple step in the process of uploading to this blog. So I have resorted to putting a link in.

Keen followers of my blog will know that I have picked up the webolution tasks in a somewhat random order, so the second half will involve me going through and discovering the gaps.

Summer 08/09

Well well, looky looky I've been a bit remiss with my blogging.
Summer diversions..have thrown myself into the summer read, which obviously involves mainly reading, following the blog and trying to matching summer read books to customers.
Oh and wading into wikki's. Stay tuned!

And of course I've been working.

Being a waterbaby I'm off to visit Mr Waterbaby on Thursday. Yipee, life's great!
